My name is Susanne Leijonhufvud and I got my first Connemara ponny in 1978 and ever since I have been devoted to the breed. My first Connemara pony was a mare by the name ”Aglaja” (Slieve Dara – Barna Dolly – Clonjoy) bred by Jan & Marianne Hofvander, Kolarhagen Stud. Aglaja was a very kind and nice pony and we had a lot of fun together. We competed in show jumping for a couple of years but since she was only 139 cm I outgrew her and she was sold.

Later in life I got interested in breeding and started to build a stud. In the middle of the 90’s I bought the stallion Oxenholm Marble Jr and after having finished my studies I imported some ponies from Ireland, Denmark and Germany.

As life doesn’t always turn out the way you plan I had to reduce the amount of ponies after a separation in 2012. I ended up keeping my two stallions Bunowen Paddy and Erinmore Golden Marble. The stud is currently situated at a small farm outside Krylbo in Dalecarlia. Apart from the ponies I have two English Springer Spaniels named Morris and Charlie.

I have always liked Shetland ponies and when Bunowen Paddy went to Ireland to stay at stud with Fiona & Tomás Grimes at Copperbeech Stud I decided to get a new ”project” to work with. I got a 2 year old Shetland pony colt named Emmeros Ludvig-Lukas in 2019. In 2020 I have invested in a yearling filly (Skärgårdens Celeste) and a filly foal (Skärgårdens Duchess) from Skärgårdens Stud.
